KublaCon 2024 Paint-n-Take

      I painted each of these on a different day of the convention.   KublaCon had a very nice paint and take set up in a big room with display areas along a couple of walls, plenty of seats and supplies (notably Vallejo and other paint brands in similar bottles), and helpful staff and volunteers.  I brought my own Opti-visor.  A n extra light would have been helpful, too.  It wasn't dark, but it could have been more bright of this kind of work.  The blue and brown miniatures are 35mm and the orange one is 28mm.  The brown one appears to be a Reaper Bones miniature from the same set as the tall miniature in my post "More Science Fiction Operators."  I don't know who the manufacturers of the others are, nor from which games the miniatures originate.   The orange one reminded me of the comic art of Moebius, so I gave him a color scheme appropriate to that body of work.  Actually, the blue one would probably look at home...

gCarrier in Splinter Pattern

Here is a gcarrier in a splinter camouflage pattern, with 25mm miniature figures for scale.  I haven't decided which faction will get this vehicle yet.  Paints were Rustoleum primer white, primer brown, primer gray, and Krylon khaki camouflage.  Masking tape was used for masking.  The triangle thing on top is a cut from a square sticker used to protect the floor from furniture feet.  The landing feet are round squares of the same material.  No gluing was needed for this model.  This vehicle was formerly a miniature vaccuum cleaner: I believe that I acquired it at a yard sale for much less than $1.  This picture shows stickers that I have added for the driver's escape hatch (round pink "$1"), for the driver's and gunner's viewports (red rectangles), for the top hatch (gray rectangle of duct tape), and for the top triangle, maybe a sensor and communications array, or the point defense system. WIP: 2 Zhodani small craft

Here are two almost finished Zhodani small craft with subdued markings and gray-black camouflage.  I still have to paint the thrusters and add some weathering.  Then I'll post pictures showing different views. I'm not sure I'm going to keep the long barrel extending from the bow of the larger vessel.  The hulls were Dove products, liquid soap or shampoo or something.  The paints are all Rustoleum:  flat white primer, camouflage black, Ultra Matte Perfect Gray. A proper Zhodani trefoil is inside a circle, as shown below, but I decided that the circle would make the insignia highly visible, defeating the intent of the camouflage.
